In 2023, Tanzania welcomed over 2 million international tourists, showcasing its growing popularity as one of world’s sought after tourist destination. Among these visitors, more than 180,000 came from Central and Eastern Europe, establishing this region the largest and most promising tourist market with immense potential for forging new business connections.
In 2023 Germany secured the No. 3 key source market for tourists in Tanzania with more than 100,000 tourists. Poland closely followed at No. 7 with an impressive influx of over 50,000 visitors. Poland and Czech Republic tourists grew by more than double in the last four years. Compared the numbers before Covid-19 in 2019 and after Covid-19 in 2023, Poland’s international travels grew by 128% and Czech Republic’s by 176%.
This consistent growth positions them as potential markets for fresh connections. Travelers from Central and Eastern Europe are drawn to Tanzania’s diverse offering, such as captivating mountain climbing experience, exhilarating wild encounters, thrilling snorkeling adventures and watersports, and the pristine sun-kissed beaches of Zanzibar.
