In 2019, Tanzania welcomed over 1.5 million international tourists, showcasing its growing popularity as one of world’s sought after tourist destination. Among these visitors, more than 230,000 came from Central and Southern Europe, establishing this region as the largest and most promising tourist market with immense potential for forging new business connections.
In 2022, France secured the No.2 key source market for tourists in Tanzania with more than 100,000 tourists. Germany closely followed at No.3, with an impressive influx of over 67,000 visitors. Switzerland and Italy are also emerging as noteworthy players, with a combined total of more than 63,000 visitors in 2022. This consistent growth positions them as potential markets for fresh connections. Travelers from Central and Southern Europe are drawn to Tanzania’s diverse offerings, such as captivating mountain climbing experiences, exhilarating wildlife encounters, thrilling snorkeling adventures and watersports, and the pristine sun-kissed beaches of Zanzibar.
